Terms of Use
Last updated November 7, 2026
Wayla is operated by Tinkly LLC (“we”, “us”). “You” means the person using Wayla. By signing up on heywayla.com, texting Wayla or connecting an account to it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Wayla.
1. The service
Wayla is a career assistant you text on WhatsApp for help with internships, research and jobs. It answers questions, remembers what you share (including resumes and files you send it), checks in with reminders and follow-ups, and, if you connect accounts, finds information in them to help you.
You can connect Google (Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive), Notion and Slack. What the assistant can do with each one is listed in our Privacy Policy. You can turn each one on or off on your account page. Connected accounts are used to read information, edit the Notion pages you shared, save email drafts, and send emails and Slack messages only after you approve them.
Wayla is free and in a private beta. Features may change, pause or end, and the service may be unavailable at times. We do not promise any particular uptime.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- Your account is tied to your phone number. To sign in on our website, you confirm the number on WhatsApp. Keep your phone secure, because anyone who can text from it can use your assistant and your account page.
- Give accurate details when you sign up, including your real date of birth.
- Only connect accounts that belong to you or that you are allowed to connect. If you connect a school or work account, you are responsible for following that organization’s rules.
3. Emails and messages sent for you
By default the assistant only saves email drafts. It sends an email only after it shows you the exact recipient, subject and message, and sends a Slack message only after it shows you the exact message and the person or channel it goes to. You approve each one by text. Once you approve it, it is sent from your account as you, and you are responsible for it, just as if you sent it yourself. Sent emails and messages may not be possible to take back.
Drafts the assistant writes, including emails to professors, recruiters and other contacts, are suggestions. Read and edit them before you send them. You are responsible for what you send, including a draft you copy and send yourself.
The assistant can edit the Notion pages you shared, but never deletes anything. Anyone who can see those pages in Notion can see its changes. Check important changes, and use Notion’s page history if you need to undo one.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Wayla to:
- break any law or anyone else’s rights;
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, including mass emails to professors or recruiters;
- access accounts or data you are not allowed to access;
- try to break, overload, probe or get around the limits or security of the service, or trick the assistant into ignoring its rules;
- copy, resell or build a competing product from the service.
We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Your content
You own the messages you send and the content in your connected accounts. You give us permission to store, process and send that content to our service providers as needed to run Wayla for you, to review conversations to improve it, and to count your outreach toward the reply counts other students can see, without saying who you are, as described in our Privacy Policy. We review emails the assistant writes for you only if you agree, and you can change your answer at any time. We do not use your content to train AI models.
6. AI responses
Replies are written by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important, such as deadlines, interview times, salaries or company details, before relying on it. Wayla does not give legal, financial, tax, medical or immigration advice, and it does not guarantee any job, internship or interview.
Information about people, labs, programs and roles can be incomplete or out of date, and a recommendation does not mean anyone is taking students or hiring. Confirm details with the official source before you rely on them.
7. Other services
Wayla works with services run by other companies, including WhatsApp (Meta), Sendblue, Apple iMessage, Cloudflare, Google, Notion and Slack. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, changes or actions.
8. Messages
By texting Wayla on WhatsApp, you agree to receive replies and follow-up messages from it. Wayla won’t text you first during the quiet hours you set on your account page. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP at any time to stop all messages and START to turn them back on.
9. Our property
Wayla, including its software, name and design, belongs to Tinkly LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use it under these terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
10. Ending
You can stop using Wayla at any time by texting STOP. You can also ask the assistant to delete your data, or delete your account on your account page. After you confirm, it deletes your messages, saved notes, files you shared, outreach records, copies of emails it wrote, your search profile, your working summary, your sign-up answers and connected accounts right away, and they age out of backups within 3 days. We may suspend or end the service, or your access, at any time. Sections 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply after your use ends.
11. No warranty
Wayla is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
12. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tinkly LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Wayla is limited to $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
If your misuse of Wayla, or an email or message you approved, leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
13. General
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about Wayla. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them if Wayla changes ownership.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we will message you before it takes effect. If you keep using Wayla after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using it and ask us to delete your data.
15. Contact
